As a soloist, DOLORES REYES AQUINO is in
demand for performing in a variety of styles of music including Jazz, Blues,
Pop, Classical, and Gospel. Dolores also has many years of choral experience
singing with church choirs as well as with madrigal ensembles. She is the
vocalist of Lolita Trio, a jazz ensemble, and has been the vocalist for
various other groups, including Bocca Musica, an a capella musical comedy
madrigal quartet performing nationally, The Point, a 6-member top-forties
band, Big Time, a 5-piece blues/rock band, The Bawdy Bohemian Banshees,
a 2-woman musical comedy act performing locally and nationally, Spitfire &
Blue, a 6-piece blues/rock band, Impromp2, an a cappella gospel
octet, and as a soloist at many various churches
in the Detroit metro area.
Dolores' formal music training
includes studies in Jazz and Classical music for both voice and piano at Wayne
State University, Macomb County Community College, and the Detroit Institute of
Music and Dance at the Center for Creative Studies. Her additional musical
skills lie in the areas of scat singing, sight reading, song writing, and lyric
writing.
